The Confessions of St. Augustine | Littlest Saints A child, a sinner, a saint. Join us as we share the story of St. Augustine, tailored to our children, as he wrestles with God and comes to the faith. Feast of Saint Monica | Catholic Saints Throughout her life, St. Monica constantly prayed for the conversion of Augustine, her beloved son. In a moment of desperation, she even asked for the bishop's help. In response, he said, "the son of those tears surely will not perish." Truly, as this bishop remarked, Monica's tearful prayers helped build her son into the Doctor of Grace. In this video, join Dr. Gray and Dr. Sehorn as they discuss this great Saint. Restless Heart This film on the life of St. Augustine offers a message of conversion and redemption. It is the story of a gifted man who pursues fame and fortune without a moral compass - and the dramatic changes that occur in his soul when challenging events lead him to see the light of truth.

Triumph of the Heart In the harrowing confines of Auschwitz’s starvation cell, Catholic priest St. Maximilian Kolbe volunteers to die in place of another prisoner, joining nine others condemned by the Nazis. The New Eve | Lectio: Mary | Episode 1 The Book of Genesis begins with the story of Adam and Eve, whose sin of disobedience breaks their relationship with God. God does not abandon his people, but gradually prepares them for the coming of his Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, the promised “seed” of Genesis 3:15 is the “New Adam,” and his mother, the promised “woman,” is the “New Eve.” Clare and Francis This outstanding movie is unique among films about St. Francis because of the historical accuracy of the story and its authentic spirit of joy and piety so characteristic of Francis, as well as the major role played by Clare. Both founded major religious orders, and together they inspired many to follow their radical call to live the Gospel.

  • Auspice Maria: The Dignity and Value of Every Human Life
Auspice Maria: The Dignity and Value of Every Human Life
I am truly saddened by the recent death of Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford. The diocesan community and I have prayed for the repose of his soul, for the consolation of his family, and for all those affected by the tragic and confusing circumstances of his death, including the law enforcement officers involved. Following Mr. Durán Guerrero’s death, I have received different requests concerning how I should respond. These requests and reactions have led me to reflect on a deeper issue: our society’s increasingly fragmented understanding of the dignity of the human person. At this moment in our history, I feel that Maine must undertake a serious examination of its collective conscience. We must also recognize that radical secularism, by removing God and the transcendent dimension of the human person from our public conversation about human dignity, threatens our common well-being. We need not surrender to division, indifference, or despair. Despite our societal problems, conversion of heart remains both possible and necessary if we are to recover a more consistent and humane respect for every human life.
