A grand thank-you to all of the people who came to Monsignor Jean-Paul Labrie’s Retirement Mass of Honor & Reception! And also, to all of those who helped both in front of & behind the scenes. With a full church, together, we gave Msgr. Labrie a beautiful farewell mass. Then afterwards, at the reception there was much fun & reminiscing. We are sure that the night’s events will be fondly remembered by all for years to come. A very special thank-you to Fr. James Plourde, for being the celebrant; to Joanne Zafonte, Kirsten Thompson & the adult choir for the outstanding liturgy music. Saying that Jesus sends us into the world not as prisoners of fear or division but as peacemakers, Bishop James Ruggieri presided over a Holy Hour of Peace and Reconciliation on April 24 in the chapel of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland.
