The purpose of the Social Justice & Peace Commission is to serve the needy in the communities of the St. John Vianney Parish. We believe in giving moral and/or financial support to projects and issues across our state, country, and world. We strive to work within the themes of Catholic Social Teaching. The Seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching are:

• Life and Dignity of the Human Person
• Call to Family, Community, and Participation
• Rights and Responsibilities
• Options for the Poor and Vulnerable
• The dignity of Work and Rights of Workers
• Solidarity
• Care for God's Creations

CURRENT NEEDS:

• ADDITIONAL COMMISSION MEMBERS, PARTICULARLY FROM ST. MARY, ST. JOSEPH, AND ST. CHARLES
• NEW IDEAS ON HOW WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THE LESS FORTUNATE LOCALLOR GLOBALLY
• EDUCATE PARISHIONERS ON IMPORTANT "SJVP" TOPICS.
