The diocese has partnered with Newman Connections to help connect high school seniors with Campus Ministry at their chosen college before they arrive in the fall. Students going into the military can also connect with the chaplain of their branch. We currently have connections available for campus ministries at the University of Maine Orono, Colby College, Bowdoin College, and Bates College with more to come. 
 
Many Catholic teens leave the church when they leave their families. With so many other groups vying for their attention in the first semester, it can be difficult for Campus Ministers to connect with students. When students (or their parents) “connect” with their school’s ministry via Newman Connection, their campus minister receives their contact info and can reach out to each student directly. This makes the transition to college easier for students since they’re no longer alone in their faith.
