This month, priests across our diocese will begin gathering in their Vicariates (regions) at a minimum of five times of the next 10 months. The first meeting will take place on Friday September 19th, 2025. The purpose of these meetings is to provide time and space for priests to be together, to reflect on pastoral matters, to support one another, and to remember that the priesthood is never lived alone
Our Part Bishop Ruggieri is quoted as saying,
“I believe that a priest who feels supported, encouraged, and connected with his brother priest is a priest who can serve his people with greater peace and generosity.”
With that said, we ask for your understanding on the days that the priests will be away for these meetings. This may mean that schedules will need to be adjusted. Funerals, for example, are sacred moments in the life of family and parish. The times for these will be scheduled accordingly. Families may need to be flexible with times and be understanding with this.
Lastly, please continue to pray for our priests, that they find renewal, support and connection during these meetings.
