The CCC presents a unique opportunity to help your neighbors and people across the country connect with Christ. When you contribute to this collection, 1/2 of your donation supports the national communications programs of the bishops of the United States, while the other 1/2 stays at home in your diocese to support local communications initiatives.

Starting with the first disciples of Jesus & his Apostles and continuing today, Christians have given of their resources to support the Church’s mission of preaching the Gospel & providing for the needs of the poor. As the Church has grown & spread across the world, Christians have long expressed their unity with the Holy Father & their commitment to his mission of mercy through an annual contribution called Peter’s Pence.

The Catholic Church has always taught us, through the words of Sacred Scripture & the witness of saints like Francis of Assisi, that the natural world is created by God, that it is good, & that humans have a special duty to care for creation so that it benefits not only themselves but also future generations. Today we live in a time where pollution, climate change, & poor agricultural practices harm creation and place us all in danger.
